BritNet, the all British net
BritNet is a net that was started in July of 1994 in an
attempt to get people together that have an interest in anything
that is British. The net has echoes that deal with British
television, history, and lifestyles. Specific echoes deal with
Dr Who, Black Adder, and Monty Python. Any conversation that
deals with an English topic is acceptable in BritNet, and is in
fact encouraged. Also, there are gated nodes direct from
England.
BritNet has over 15 nodes in the United States, Canada,
and England. The net is very open, with no strict rules and
regulations. Handles are accepted on most echoes and are in fact
desired. A file echo is also part of BritNet, with the
distribution of British related text files, sound files
(.WAVs and such), and pictures.
So, if this sounds like something that would interest you
or your users, if you have a love of everything that is British
(like I do), you may then freq BRITNET.ZIP from FidoNet node
1:232/319.
Cheerio,
Jeff Young
